The Key

He must become [MORE] - I must become [LESS]. John 3:30

This verse is so amazing, it sums up what a follower of Jesus must do. We must deny ourselves (our flesh) and give full reigns to the Spirit. The more we yield to the Spirit, the more we are able, by His supernatural grace, to live the set-apart life He has called us to live. Flesh is just another word for self- our selfish, put-my-own-wants-first side. Our culture is used to getting what we want, when we want, and how we want. In order to be a follower of Jesus we must give Him EVERYTHING. Our time, our money, our heart even... everything, He wants it all. He doesn't want your good deeds or your praise or your kind words - He wants our heart. He wants us to follow Him and love Him WHOLEHEARTEDLY. When you do fall in love with our amazing Creator of course all of the deeds, words, and praise will come along with that love. (1 John 2)

This life is not about us. It's about Christ.
~ I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me. Galatians 2:20

And only when we put to silence our selfish side can we radiate with diving heavenly beauty. Silencing our selfish side takes a lot of focus and a heavy dose of supernatural enabling grace. But Christ is more than interested in equipping us to put to death the desire of our flesh. When you woke up this morning did you think of your day as belonging to you or Him? Did you live as if your time and decisions were your own or His? Did you allow the distractions of this world turn your head, to occupy your thoughts, or to dictacte your choices? Or was He your sole pursuit?

.:Turn your eyes upon Jesus,
Look full in His wonderful face.
And the things of earth will grow strangely dim,
In the light of His glory and grace:.

Pray for the grace to silence your selfish side or even for God just to reveal it to you, some people don't even notice when they are being selfish... then begin putting it into practice in your everyday life.

~Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. James 1:22

Fall in love with Jesus, He will never break your heart.
