Sorry I haven't blogged in a while. I feel like the Lord is doing so much, all the time in me Spiritually that I can't ever jot it all down. If you wanna know, I'll just let you read my journal :)
But this is vital and important information that will CHANGE the way you live life and pursue Life. And I didn't write one word of it. Haha. Just being honest. I am 100% copy and pasting (well...typing) this from the Travel The Road January Newsletter. Read it.
Dear Friends,
Greetings in the Lord! Another year is upon us, and this year it feels like things are changing more than ever. For us, we hold a positive outlook and sincerely believe in our hearts that this is going to be a banner year. We are confessing the best and expect to see God move in wonderful and amazing ways. In these last years, it has become tiring and boring to hear all of the pessimism about America, the world and the fear of the future. From the financial crisis to grim outlook of global decisions, a fear has taken hold of the earth, especially in these past few years. This outlook might continue to those who have no hope, but we, as believers, don't have to submit to this fear or dark view of the future. If there was ever a time to rise above- it is now. The world needs leaders, and we, as the church, can either fall inline with the crowd and welcome the darkness, or rise to a challenge and lead others to a better future in the Lord.
In 2013, we have to change our thinking and bring it inline with what the Word of God has to say. We have to take bold steps to change our path and be faithful in the sight of challenges. Here are a few things to consider:
Change how you think: For many people, life has become too familiar and without deviation. The goal of life has become to collect possessions. Possessions give us a sense of security and belonging. Comfort. There is nothing wrong with having possessions, but in the end, you can't take any of those possessions with you. (1 Timothy 6:7). Instead we should strive to collect memories. Memories of a life well lived in Him. A life of meaning, difference, truth and faith. Memories free of regret. Memories that will not fade with the passage of time. For most people, they do not realize that this is the truth until they have worked themselves to the point of fatigue or some point of financial secrutiy. Why wait a moment longer? Stop collecting things that will perish and start collecting memories of a bold life in Christ!
Change how you speak: "Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will eat its fruit." Proverbs 18:21. If we choose to utter complaints, negativity and dark words we will only reap such in our lives. Our words hold power, and we must remember that. With so much pessimism in the world today, it is easy to fall into the trap of reckless speaking, but we must set our minds on what is good, what is right, what is worthy of our lips to utter. When we train our tongues to speak in faith, we will see the world open up before us.
Change how you act: Your actions and character are molded by those around you. More importantly, you allso mold those near you by your actions. If you were to change just a few minor things in your actions, you would see an immediate effect upon those around you. Good or bad, you'll see it. So imagine if you were to wake up and change the course of things for the better. Life would take on a whole new dynamic, and you would be an immediate witness through your actions. So change your actions now, for the better, and do what your heart has been crying out to do for so long. Change how you act by following your spirit and the Word. Do not compromise or fear failure, and you will see the world shift beneath your feet.
These small steps that we have highlighted are things we have applied to our lives long ago and remind ourselves every year. We truly believe the best is ahead, and we want to make 2013 a year to remember!
