This past month has been one of the hardest months of my life. I don't know how to explain the indescribable love and joy and comfort that comes from the Lord but I am going to try...
I have felt abandoned, hopeless, trapped, discouraged, unwanted, disrespected, worthless, unimportant... I have felt like a complete and total failure.
Then I opened the Word.
The Word of God is hands down the most important tangible thing in this world to me. I have found extreme comfort, encouragement, redemption, restoration and rest from the Word and I am so blessed that the Holy Spirit spoke and breathed all those words into existence... for me. Once I open up that living and breathing Bible I am instantly healed. The Bible constantly reminds me I am loved, purchased, His, beloved, saved, redeemed, worthy, cherrished, wanted, respected, important, royalty. This month of stress and struggle has only drawn me closer to the Lord and He has showed me that no one is worthy of my heart except for Him... and after this month or two I have concluded that their is no one else I want to give it to. The Lord is the only constant in my life and I need to constantly remind myself of that. He is constant, steadfast, good, and in control. The Lord is sovereign.
I want to encourage anyone who is struggling or in a desert season or walking through a valley... don't stop opening the Word. No matter what, keep reading your Bible and praying to God - He is with you always. He will always deliver and comfort you, always. Here are some comforting scriptures that remind me of the Lord's love for me, I hope they help you too.
"The Lord your God is with you, He is mighty to save. He will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing." Zephaniah 3:17
"Fear not, for I have redeemed you; I have summoned you by name; you are mine. When you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not set you ablaze. For I am the Lord, your God, the Holy One of Israel, your Savior. Since you are precious and honored in my sight, and because I love you, I will give men in exchange for you, and people in exchange for your life. Do not be afraid, for I am with you." Isaiah 43:1-3, 4-5
"I will betroth you to me forever; I will betroth you in righteousness and justice, in love and copassion. I will betroth you in faithfulness." Hosea 3:19, 20
"And the Lord will guide you continually
and satisfy your desire in scorched places
and make your bones strong;
and you shall be like a watered garden,
like a spring of water,
...whose waters do not fail"
Isaiah 58:11
